Six students are running unopposed for SGA offices in elections to be held April 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main lobby. All students are eligible to vote.

The candidates are Jason Wertz for President, John Pfundstein for Vice President, Courtney Denton for Secretary, Mindy Maher for Sophomore Programming Board, Ruth Irwin for Sophomore Representative, and Elizabeth Zelenski for Student Trustee.

No one filed a petition for Treasurer or for the additional Sophomore Programming Board post.

Student Trustee Chris Smith said he had hoped to see a full ballot and competition for the offices.

"I had fun," he said. "It's been a great learning experience."

Advisor Cory Tomasson said, "The Student Government Association is a great opportunity for students to take part in the decision-making process of the college."

He added that "The members of the 1998-99 SGA set a very good example for future members. They got involved in many things, and researching about issues regarding other students at the college.

"The proved themselves to be very responsible," he said. "I'll really miss them and all their valuable input."
