The Apaches have lost their last five games between Jan. 11 and Jan. 29 by an average of 22 points. A couple of these games have been near misses for IVCC, but that average parity was thrown off by a 107-55 loss to Sauk Valley on Jan. 23.

The team’s sole win this semester was against Carl Sandburg in the first game after the semester break when their record was 8-and-9. Since then, the Apaches six-game losing streak has had games as close as IVCC’s 65-68 loss to Blackhawk College and as desperate as the Sauk Valley game.

After IVCC’s 93-82 loss to Kishwaukee College, the team record fell to 8-15, 1-5 in Arrowhead conference play.

Previous losses in reverse chronological order came to Sauk Valley Community College (107-55), Highland College (97-67), Blackhawk College - East (86-72), Blackhawk College (68-65), and an 80-69 Apache win over Carl Sandburg College.

Jeremy Woodward has led Apache scorers in recent games. Woodward is capable of both perimeter shooting and penetrating to get the lay-up. Freshman Jared Haskell, a Hall High School product, is the Apaches man on the outside, scoring most of his points on threes. Sam Beyer, standing 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds, is Apaches big man under the basket. He has been the point-production man for two-pointers and inside shots.
