It's report card time for the Apache and Lady Apache basketball teams. Now into their fifth week of the conference season, the teams have worked hard improving their skills. Just how well have they done that? That's the question the Apache staff has kept in mind when grading the IVCC basketball teams.
Women's basketball: Lady Apaches
16-5 overall, 5-1 conferenceMen's basketball: Apaches
8-15 overall, 1 - 5 conference
C | Forwards: The Lady Apaches have struggled with rebounding all season. Losing Tiffany Perry won't help that | B | Defense: Last year the Lady Apaches were ranked nationally in points given up. This year they aren't |
A | Guards: Two words. Jaci Bice | C | Bench: With the loss of Jamie Kromm, Ashley Kneebone and Perry, the bench is depleted. |
A | Offense: With a roster stocked full of shooters, the Lady Apaches can score at will. | B | Overall: Mommy's gonna put this one on the fridge, ladies. All that's left is an upset of Sauk Valley. |
B | Forwards: Sam Beyer, Matt Pusch and Jeremy Woodward are making an impact. But can they carry the team? | D | Defense: A 107-55 loss to Sauk Valley has a lot to say about the Apaches' D. |
D | Guards: A group of speedy, strong shooters can't figure out their role in the offense | C | Bench: Can a collection of high school standouts settle into their roles as non-starters? |
C | Offense: Their recent games wouldn't show it, but the Apaches are capable of runing up the score. | D | Overall: The Apaches are streaky at best. The team is simply a year away from any sort of consistency. |
