The IVCC golf team completed their competition in the prestigious Alabama Junior-Senior Intercollegiate Tournament on April 2 at Stillwaters Resort in Dadeville, Alabama.

Participating in the tournament were ten top ranked NJCAA Division I schools, the defending Division II Champions, and other highly regarded 4 year schools from Alabama, Florida, and Texas.

IVCC’s 54-hole total of 948 (315, 316, 317) placed them near the back of the 16 team field.

"We left before all of the scores were posted," said Coach Jim Moskalewicz, "But it looked as though we were going to finish 14th or 15th out of the 16 teams.

The Apaches’ top individual performance was Josh Wheeler’s 231 (71, 74, 79). Tom Bartman shot a 235 (78, 79, 78), and T.J. Templeton scored a 240 (79, 80, 81).

"I’m not overly concerned with our finish position," said Moskalewicz. "This was our first competition of the year and we had only two weeks of decent weather to prepare. Every other team has been competing since January, and we’re talking about an extremely strong field.

IVCC’s next match is the Tri-State University Invitational on April 8 at Angola, Indiana.
