3 on 3 Tournament Results: The Apache baseball team hosted a three on three tournament Feb.26-27, and a team of students which consisted of Apache basketball players Lacey Tyler, Craig Olson, Dave Sharp, and Eric Hayward defeated a team which consisted of three IVCC students, Derek Baird, Ryan Andres, Tony Orlandi and Hall High School senior Dan Prokup. The team consisting of the four basketball players defeated the "Hall has beens" 21-14.
Nearly $1,500 was raised for the baseball team’s trip to Florida. A total of 24 teams competed in the men’s division. The junior division championship was won by a team led by Mitch Riley, Athletic Director Mike Riley’s son.
The baseball team did a variety of fundraising for their first trip to Florida, which consisted of games in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Barnesville, Georgia before arriving in Sanford, Florida. The team will travel for two games after Spring Break to play in the Minneapolis Metrodome.
Candidates being interviewed: At press time, candidates for the women’s basketball coaching position were being interviewed . One candidate is former assistant coach Randy Casey, who is in charge of the recruiting for next year. The position became open when the contract of Joe Conroy was not renewed in January.
