Candidates file for board seats
Five candidates have filed for the three seats on the college Board of Trustees to be filled in the consolidated election April 13.
The candidates are Harry Debo of Peru and Tom Shea of Princeton, both incumbents, H. Todd Phalen of Mendota, Tom Brandner of Peru and C. R. Jasiek of LaSalle. Brandner and Jasiek are former members of the board.
Debo was elected to the board in Nov. 1987; Shea was appointed in Dec. 1997; Brandner served from 1972 to 1993; and Jasiek was on the board from 1971 to 1991.
Dr. Merle Piacenti, whose term expires in April, is not running for re-election. He has served on the board since his appointment in June 1992.
Terms on the board are for six years.
