Two positions filled, two still open
Two full-time faculty joined the staff at the beginning of the spring semester, and the search to fill two other staff positions continues.
Cherie Weber, a part-time instructor at IVCC for four years, has been hired as the colleges first therapeutic massage instructor, and Michelle M. Story has been hired as Assistant to Instruction, Computer Labs.
Weber holds a Diploma in Nursing from the St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing in Chicago, a B.S.N. from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisc., and an M.S. in Public Health Nursing from the University of Illinois in Chicago.
She has seven years experience in independent nursing and served as Division Director of Community Health Services at IVCH in Peru.
Story holds an A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems from IVCC, and she served as a PC Technician/Mainframe Operator as a student worker at IVCC. She was also an account representative with M & M News Agency in LaSalle.
The search for a Supervisor of Facilities is ongoing. The post has been open since the fall semester when the former supervisor, Larry Rousey, was named Director of the Physical Plant.
The position of Senior Center Coordinator is also open. The individual would manage and supervise the Illinois Valley Senior Center, located on the East Campus.
