Why running for the Board:
I enjoy the challenges of working with administration, staff and fellow board members in keeping IVCC one of the finest community colleges in the state of Illinois.
Biggest challenges facing the college:
We have a very large capital outlay in the next few years to upgrade our buildings and also to install computers in many parts of the college. This large outlay will have to be carefully watched by our staff and administration.
When Dr. Goodnow was hired as President of IVCC the board had told her she would be replacing many fine people who will begin retiring, about one-half of the full time instructors between 1995-2000. All of us had to work together to maintain the past quality IVCC was known by and also try to improve on the past. I believe Dr. Goodnow has done an excellent job at replacing those people and I want to support her in future as this replacement continues.
I have three children. I want all of them to attend IVCC, and I want to ensure they receive the finest education possible.
