The IVCC Student Art Exhibit will be in the Cultural Centre Link through April 16.

The 150 works include drawings, paintings, ceramics and photographs by students in Drawing I and II, Design I and II, Introduction to Photography, Visual, Communications, Painting and Pottery I courses.

Darrell Stiennen, art lab assistant who has helped in setting up the show, said the purpose of the show is "to promote the IVCC art department and encourage enrollment in art classes."

Stiennen said the show has taken all semester to assemble. Collecting the artwork started in the fall semester. Cataloguing, matting and organizing the works to be included started in the spring semester and takes up the most time, Stiennen said.

Cover art on the catalogue for the show was also done by a visual communications student, Stiennen said.

"Most of the students have between 4 and 15 works in the show," Stiennen said, "so you can notice the progress they have made."
