LETTER TO EDITOR: Kudos to Koshu
To the Editor,
Thank you for the very well-written article by Randa Anthony and Amy Vohs describing the life and work of Koshu Jagasia (April 8, 1999, Apache, "Jagasia: From India to IVCC.")
A number of years ago, Mrs. Jagasia gave private Hindu lessons to my daughter, who was completing a major in eastern religions at another college. Mrs. Jagasia’s teaching quickly extended to lessons in Indian culture, ideas, religion (and food!), and became a deeper and more enriching experience than either of us could have expected.
Whatever her feelings of gratitude toward the people of the Illinois Valley may be, I think it is we who are fortunate in having Koshu Jagasia here with us.
