A program on "Recognizing Symptoms of Domestic Violence" will be presented May 5 at 7:27 a.m. as an Ottawa Area Chamber Small Business Breakfast Seminar.

Mimi De Cicco, the community Coordinator of ADV/SAS, will provide current information useful to small businesses of the Ottawa area. Her program will be at the Ottawa Knights of Columbus.

The seminars are organized and coordinated by Mary Lou Meader, IVCC director of continuing education and external learning, with the cooperation of the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Boyd Palmer, the director of IVCCs Small Business Development Center, is the president and Jerry Galas the executive director of the Ottawa Chamber.

Meader said this is the first year for such programs in Ottawa. Similar seminars have been offered by IVCC and the Illinois Valley Area Chamber for some time.

"This has been an excellent way for me to become acquainted with the small businesses of the IVCC district," Meader said. "I hope to expand this concept to Princeton, Mendota and Streator."
