Incumbents Harry R. Debo of Peru and Thomas A Shea of Princeton and newcomer H. Todd Phalen of Mendota were elected to the IVCC Board of Trustees in the April 13 consolidated election.

Debo, a 12-year board veteran, led the ticket with 17,486 votes. Shea, who was appointed to the board in Dec. 1997, followed with 15,630. Phalen received 15,186 votes.

Three seats were open. Dr. Merle Piacenti, who served on the board since 1992, did not run for reelection.

Two former board members failed in their attempts to return to board service. C. R. Jasiek, who was on the board from 1971 to 1991, finished fourth with 11,833 votes, and Tom Brandner, who was on the board from 1972 to 1993, finished fifth with 11,693 votes.

The newly elected members were seated at a special meeting on April 19.

Terms on the board are for six years.
