Two students named All-Academic
Nursing students Lynn Kaszynski of Peru and Kim Wiemholt of Manville have been named to the 1999 Phi Theta Kappa All-Illinois Academic Team.
The two, members of the IVCC chapter of PTK, were honored March 23-24 in the Illinois State Capitol Rotunda as part of the All-Illinois Academic Team Recognition Day.
They were accompanied by College President Dr. Jean Goodnow, Chair of Health Professions Bonnie Grusk, and PTK advisors Lori Nall and Marge Hunt.
Kaszynski hopes to earn both her bachelors and masters in nursing. Her long-range goal is to teach. She is a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile and was the coordinator of the 1998 Student Nurse Association Giving Tree.
Wiemholt has participated in flu clinics, blood pressure screenings and the Red Cross Blood Drive. She plans to enter obstetrical nursing and eventually nurse midwifery after earning her bachelors degree.
Both Kaszynski and Wiemholt have gpas above 3.5, which is required for membership in PTK.
