LETTER TO THE EDITOR:  We need Frisbees

Back to the Apache home page

There are many items sold in the bookstore with IVCC written all over them. Some make sense, like pencils, pens, folders, and binders. Others don't have much to do with school but students like them anyway, such as playing cards.

While all these items are good to sell in the bookstore, there are other items students would like. Among them is the simple Frisbee. Frisbee playing is one of the activities students engage when the weather is nice and they are waiting for classes.

Many students bring Frisbees to school only to lose them on the roofs of the buildings surrounding the courtyard. When that happens, the game is instantly over….unless someone is willing to hike the treacherous ten miles or so to the parking lot and drive to Walmart to buy a new one. It would be much easier to walk up to the bookstore.

Frisbee enthusiast Jeremy Caldera said "I would have easily bought a half-dozen Frisbees to replace the ones we lost last semester."

Other items students have expressed an interest in seeing in the bookstore include yo-yos, soft footballs and baseballs, IVCC boxer shorts, socks, shoelaces, and bandannas.
