Two staff hired

A Project Success counselor and a nursing instructor have been hired since the start of the fall semester.
Wendi Weiden, who completed an internship in Project Success, is now a full-time counselor. A graduate of Lewis University, with a master's degree in counseling psychology, Weiden also worked as a counselor for special needs students at IVCC.
She has worked as a social service caseworker for developmentally disabled adults, a child welfare specialist for foster care and as a teacher for behavior disordered and emotionally disturbed high school students. She also worked as a camp counselor at a camp for youth at risk in Sharon, Mass.
Weiden has a bachelor's degree in social justice from the University of Illinois - Springfield.
Patricia L. Pence, new nursing instructor, assumed her duties on Oct. 2.
A graduate of IVCC's nursing program, Pence has served as the Director of Nursing at the Heritage Manor facilities in Streator and Dwight. She was also on the nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.
Pence has an M.S.N. from Northern Illinois University and a B.S.N. from Bradley. She has both an L.P.N. and R.N. from IVCC.
