Dr. Henry Zintambila, professor of geography at Illinois State University, will speak at 11 a.m. Sept. 23 in C-316.

Zintambila, born in Malawi, Africa, and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa, has a bachelor’s degree from Spicer Memorial College in India, a master’s from the University of Poona, India, and a Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii.

Amnesty International, which is co-sponsoring Zintambila’s appearance with POWER and the Social Science Division, is organizing a series of brown bag luncheons. AI advisor Pat Cole said the group intends to bring one guest speaker a month to campus to share their cultures.

"We are attempting to learn about the values, beliefs, ideas and norms of other cultures," she said.
