A team led by Ronnie Couch and Brent Allen were leading intramural flag football with a record of 3-0, at press time. Coming in a close second is a faculty team led by Cory Tomasson and Bob Reese, with a 2-1 record.
Rounding out the four teams that are playing are a student team guided by Tony Nevicosi and Holli Rapp, and a faculty team led by Tony Ruda. Both of these teams have an 0-2 record. Games are held on Monday and Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. on the old football practice field.
The games have been high scoring. Intramural Director Bob Koopmann said the opener between Ronnie Couch/Brent Allens team and Cory Tomasson/Bob Reeses team was a 35-34 score.
In conjunction with the homecoming events, the championship of Flag Football will be held on Oct. 15 at noon.
Chess was a scheduled event but only four people expressed an interest in playing, and eight were needed.
Another homecoming intramural event will be the closest to the pin contest which will held on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m.-12. The contest and all intramurals are open to all students, faculty and staff.
Upcoming activities include a basketball league and euchre that will begin on Oct. 18. Sign up for these activities is Oct. 1-15 in the baseball office, or by calling extension 505.
