Buying textbooks is now as easy as keyboarding www.efollett.com
At the end of August, the IVCC Bookstore began participating in the online textbook program pioneered by the Follett Higher Education Group.
To order textbooks on line:
go to the efollett web site
choose Illinois as the location
choose IVCC from the list of Illinois schools.
From that point, required texts can be located through a search of course names or book titles. Book delivery options include picking up the books at the IVCC bookstore or having them delivered to your home.
UPS ground delivery charges are $3.95 for the first book and $.99 for each additional book. UPS second day and next day delivery charges range from $8 to $10. All major credit cards are accepted.
The efollett site can also be reached through a link in the bookstore web site at www.ivcc.edu/bookstore
Discussing the benefits of online ordering Lauren Sandberg, bookstore manager, said, "I cant think of any reason not to."
She said the price of the books ordered online is the same as the books on the bookstore shelves, although she said used books do save as much as 25 percent over the cost of a new text.
Sandberg said telecourse tapes and required supplies will also be available through the web site soon.
Recently chosen by Yahoo magazine as the "smartest place to buy textbooks," efollett has access to more than 16 million textbooks and serves some 4 million students at more than 800 college campuses.
The IVCC Bookstore will also ship books directly to students who call in and place a credit card order. The shipping charge is $3.95 for the first book and $.95 for each additional one.
