Stressed out? Could a massage help you relax?

Find out Oct. 27 when massage therapy students demonstrate chair massages from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria area.

The students, enrolled in Therapeutic Massage Techniques I, are providing the demonstrations in observance of Massage Therapy Awareness Week, Oct. 25 - 30, and preparing for Massage Clinics that will begin in January.

Cherie Weber, instructor of the new program, said she and the students hope to increase awareness of the health benefits of massage.

"And it feels good," she added.

"Many people are uncomfortable with the idea of undressing for a massage, and chair massage is a great introduction to massage in general," she said.

Beginning January 12, the students will be providing full body one-hour massages every Wednesday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for $20. Weber said the charge covers the basic expenses of the clinic.

The Clinic will begin making appointments in November at 224-0599.
