Basketball intramurals winding down

Intramurals will close down with the basketball league tournament which will be held on December 12.

The single-elimination tournament games will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the #4 seed the Fr. Pitching Staff (2-3) against Mason’s Brix (1-4). The 5:30 game will have the #3 seed He Gaat It (3-2) against the #6 seed Players Club (1-4), while in the 6:30 game will have the number #1 seed the Degrees (4-1) against the winner of the 4:30 game.

Rounding out the other semi-final at 7:30 will be the Pirates (4-1) against the winner of the 5:30 game while the championship w ill be the winner of the semi-finals at 8:30.

The "regular season" of intramurals ended with the Degrees, led by Fran Brolley, losing to He Gaat It, led by baseball player Jeff Szczupaj 80-70 in the first game of the evening on December 5. The Freshmen Pitching Staff led by Ryan Bailey won their second game of the regular season behind a 69-45 victory over Sean Mason’s Masons Brix’s.

Closing out the night was a nail biter of a game between the Josh Reeder led Pirates over Bill Raffety’s Players Club, 71-70.

Intramural Director Bob Koopmann said he was pleased with the 55 – 60 students and faculty who participated in basketball..

Intramurals second semester will include bowling and ping pong. If anyone would like to participate in these, please contact Koopmann at ext. 505 or in the baseball office.
