Student Ambassadors official college hosts
Identified by purple and white striped rugby shirts, the Student Ambassadors serve as hosts and tour guides at college events. This fall the Ambassadors have already donated their time to help with the Fall Preview and at Ask Me Tables.
Advised by Meg Kowalczyk, the l998-99 Ambassadors are: Neil Alcorn, Ann Colby, Mary Cridge, Gavin Finefield, Luke Graham, Jason Leone, Lori McCollum, Judy McQuilkin, Coleen ONeill, Cameron Reeder, Chris Smith, Becky Schlund, Megan Sluis, Al Steinz, and Leslie Webster.
"Being a Student Ambassador has helped me become more acquainted with the main campus and made me feel more comfortable with instructors," said Cridge. "It has also helped me build self confidence. If you are interested in prestige, pride and leadership, I recommend contacting Meg Kowalczyk or a Student Ambassador."
Student Ambassadors are selected early in the spring semester, and they go through training in March. To be eligible for membership a student must be full-time, must have completed 12 semester hours, and must have a minimum 2.75 gpa.
Kowalczyk said applicants for Student Ambassadors also must submit recommendations, and they are interviewed to determine if they have a positive attitude toward IVCC, a willingness to work with other students, and leadership qualities.
