Eleven new staff members join IVCC

Eleven new staff members have joined IVCC this fall. They include eight instructors and three administrators.

Patricia Reed is the new Director of Purchasing. She previously was the acting director of purchasing. She attended Midstate Business College in Peoria and has been with IVCC’s purchasing department for 3 years.

The new Director of Learning Technologies, Melissa D. Templeton, is taking over for Ed Anderson who retired. Templeton previously was employed at Black Hawk College in Moline for two years as Western Illinois Education Consortium Director and four years as Transfer Center Advisor/Manager.

Former Speech/Theatre Instructor Giacomo R. Leone is the new Division Chair of Humanities and Fine Arts. He served as director of the IVCC’s theatre program for 21 years. He replaces the retired Samuel Rogal.

Stephen R. Alvin is a new history instructor. He had been employed at Illinois Central College as adjunct faculty for two years and Dickinson State University as a visiting lecturer for one year.

Jill Urban-Bollis replaces Mary Dillon as the Psychology/Educational Psychology Instructor. Urban-Bollis has been previously been employed by the college as a part-time instructor and also at Catholic Social Service in Peoria and LaSalle as a Specialized Foster Care Therapist for five years.

Glenda Tannahill is the new Computer Information Systems Instructor; she has been employed by IVCC as a part-time instructor. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University.

The new Assistant to Instruction in the Computer Labs is Laura L. Nelson. Nelson holds an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Western Illinois University and a B.S. in Business Education.

John A. Biggs is the new Electronics Instructor. He was a member of the adjunct faculty at IVCC for five years.

Kaushalya G. Jagasia has been hired as an English instructor. She has been a member of the adjunct faculty at IVCC for six years and was a full-time tutor for five years.

Dr. David A. Kuester is the new Speech/Theatre Instructor who replaces Giaccomo R. Leone. He previously was employed as a Theatre and Speech Communications Instructor for two years at Victoria College in Victoria, Texas.

Yet to be approved is the hiring of Richard F. Mangold. Mangold has been an IVCC part-time instructor in Psychology three years and in private practice in Ottawa for 14 years.
