New machines in Fitness Center
Seven pieces of equipment have been added to the Educational Fitness Center this fall.
The additions are four lifecycles, one cross trainer, one treadmill, all in the cardiovascular line and a Pec Dec/Rear Deltoid machine for the strength line.
"With these additions the Fitness Center is able to offer our students the latest in cardiovascular and strength equipment," said Director Tony Ruda.
The lifecycles, model 9500HR, which Ruda described as the most versatile bikes on the market, are the result of 20 years of research.
"This aerobic trainer offers a host of features designed to help students achieve their fitness goals faster and with greater enjoyment," he said.
The cross trainer, Ruda said, is a very effective piece of cardiovascular equipment.
"Forward or backward pedal motions target the lower body with a fluid motion that offers virtually no impact to ankles, knees, hips and lower back," he said.
The cross trainer is equipped with 20 resistance levels and seven programs. One program automatically adjusts the equipments resistance to maintain the users heart rate which is monitored by sensors.
The treadmill, a Quiton Club Track 3.0, brings the total number of treadmills in the center up to four. Ruda said this new model allows users to create their own personal workouts, set up interval programs or access quick-start manual workouts.
The Magnum Pec Dec/Rear Deltoid Machine, Ruda said, will allow users to incorporate two new exercises into their strength workouts.
