A Director of Development has been hired, and searches continue to fill a number of other positions at IVCC.

Bonita Dahlbach, a 1995 IVCC graduate, began her job as the college’s first Director of Development on Sept. 28. She will direct fund-raising programs for the college Foundation.

In 1995, she served as the Student Representative to the Board of Trustees at IVCC. At the U of I in Springfield she was Student Events Coordinator while she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science.

Dahlbach was a legislative intern in the Illinois House of Representatives and a staff intern for the Illinois Community College Board.

OTHER JOBS OPEN

Searches are underway to hire a Director of Facilities, a Financial Aid Director, a Coordinator of Business and Industry Services, a computer networking instructor and a therapeutic massage instructor.

Jerry Corcoran, Director of Human Resources said that for the position of Director of Facilities, the college has advertised for someone with five years experience in the successful management of facilities and grounds.

Larry Rousey, maintenance supervisor, has been serving as interim Director since Ralph Niemeyer resigned in the spring.

For the financial aid position, Corcoran said at press time the search committee had not met to review candidates. He said the search committee should have a candidate to recommend for the Nov. 18 board meeting, at the latest.

On Oct. 2, former Financial Aid Director Paul Crawford left to take the position of Director of Student Financial Planning at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.

The position of Coordinator of Business and Industry Services has been open for over a year, but has only recently been advertised. Corcoran said the person hired would be responsible for the sales, development and implementation of customized training programs for business and industry within the college district.

Requirements are a Bachelor’s degree, minimum of two years experience in business and industry and strong organizational and communication skills.

For the computer networking instructor, the college is advertising for someone with a minimum of an Associate Degree in a computer related area, with Novell or Microsoft NT Network certification and work experience as a network administrator.

The college is also searching for a therapeutic massage instructor for a program that is scheduled to be underway in the spring semester. Requirements include a B.S. in a health field, certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work and two years experience as a massage therapist.

Corcoran said the search committees for the two instructor positions hope to have candidates to recommend to the college board for their Nov. 18 meeting.
