Campus Comments COLUMN: Get involved at IVCC
By HOLLI L. RAPP
Get involved; become active in things going on at IVCC.
On numerous occasions, I have heard students saying that there is nothing to get involved in here. But they are wrong, there are lots of organizations and events that students may get involved in.
There is probably one organization that does or is affiliated with something that you already do. Even if there isnt something that you like here now, why not start a new organization, or even bring back an old organization that has not been active in a few years. A new organization, Fitness and Wellness Club, was started and an old organization, Student Educators, was restarted.
For myself, getting involved has been the best part of attending IVCC. I have met people that I would have not met without being a member of the different organizations.
Taking part in campus activities is much better than just attending college, going home every day after school and then coming back the next day and starting all over again.
Being involved is part of the college experience.
