Do I need IVCC placement testing?

IVCC uses multiple measures to determine if you are ready to enroll in college level courses. By filling out this form and its multiple sections, you may be exempt from taking the IVCC placement tests. Before you begin, you will want to have all of the documents and scores that apply to you handy so you can fill out the appropriate fields. Documents needed are listed below with links to access those documents.

If the documentation asked for below doesn't apply to you (you never took standardized tests, graduated with a unweighted HS GPA of a 3.0 or higher, took AP or Dual credit courses, etc.) then fill out the personal information section on the next page, check the field that says "I waive this placement screening and agree to take the IVCC placement tests" and submit.

Self-reported scores, GPAs and grades will be verified once you send your official score reports, high school transcripts, GED score report and/or other college transcripts to IVCC. This is for purposes of initial placement and registration. Failure to submit the official documents above may result in de-registration of your courses with pre-requisites.

Math

IVCC recommends ALL students take a math placement exam. Why? If your future major requires you to take an upper-level math, you may end up in non-credit math courses. To give you the best possible placement and options, the test is highly recommended. The test is required for any student needing Calculus.

Fill out any of the data below that apply to you to see if you are eligible to enroll in an entry-level college level Math. If none of these categories applies, you must register for an IVCC Placement test in math.
