Preparing a New Workforce for a Sustainable Economy


In 2010, IVCC received a three-year National Science Foundation grant to produce model certificate programs for renewable energy technicians leading to a new Associate in Applied Science degree in industrial technology.

The objectives of the project are:

- To develop a certificate program for wind energy technicians
- To develop a certificate program for technicians in other renewable/alternative energy industries
- To develop an Associate in Applied Science degree in industrial technology, creating a career pathway from renewable energy programs and other industry related programs to baccalaureate degree programs.
