2009 Deadline for submissions was Feb. 26
Design a poster to motivate young people to pursue a career in engineering or engineering technology and become eligible for prizes in the 2009 Engineering Poster Contest sponsored by Illinois Valley Community College. Engineers and engineering technicians make significant contributions to our everyday lives. Nearly everything around us is the result of the creativity of an engineer. Engineering is an exciting field that makes a difference.
While a career in engineering requires a four-year degree, a career as an engineering technician requires only a two-year degree, so a technical program can lead to a career relatively quickly. Engineering is a high paying field, and makes an excellent career for a man or a woman. Because engineering makes practical applications of math and science, it makes math and science fun.
