Making Industry Meaningful In
College
a
nationally recognized curriculum project that places Illinois Valley
Community College students from engineering design and
business in teams to design, manufacture, market and sell a product.
The student teams, called "companies," simulate an industrial company
structure, allowing the students to experience a workplace environment
in a classroom setting.
The goal of this project is to expose students to real life experiences that will better prepare them for the world of work.
MIMIC gives students the opportunity to use creative thinking skills, teamwork, and communication skills by creating a true life situation mimicking an industry.
