Students enrolled in specific engineering design, electronics and business classes participate in the MIMIC project. Those classes are:
BUS 2260 - Integrated Business Operations
CAD 2208 - Engineering Design Projects
ELT 2254 - Electrical Capstone
Those classes are scheduled at a common time in the spring semester to allow the multi-disciplinary teams of students (called "companies") to meet. The common meeting time also allows the students to receive training in workplace skills.
Typically, a student company includes two students in engineering design, two in electronics, and a mix of business students. The makeup of the student companies is designed to simulate the environment of a manufacturing company.
Business students discuss marketing strategy.
Engineering students explain the progress
their company is making during a session
of CAD 2208.
