A pair of young Brazilian entrepreneurs toured Illinois Valley Community College Wednesday to learn more about computer aided drafting, computer networking, computer information systems and integrated graphics.
Henrique Mundim is launching a computer information systems business and Clever Anjos a telecommunications firm. Both have relied on their resident Brazilian college the past two years for help with their new businesses.
Jane Goetz, representing Ottawa Noon and Ottawa Sunrise Rotaries, has been their tour guide in the past week while the two toured northern Illinois. Anjos and Mundim are part of a group of Brazilian Rotary students on a 30-day tour of Illinois sponsored by Rotary International. The students have two more weeks in Illinois.
Elaine Novak, IVCC Dean of Career and Technical Programs, Mary Smith, adjunct computer aided drafting instructor, Gina Elias, computer networking program coordinator, Charles Kwiatkowski, computer information systems instructor and IVCC students Aaron Marshall (computer aided drafting) and Justin Malavolti (electronics) provided a tour of the facilities and interacted with the Brazilian students.
