PAUL SIMON ESSAY CONTEST
"How IVCC Changed My Life," is the theme of the annual Paul Simon Essay Contest sponsored by the college’s Community Relations and Marketing office. The IVCC student who writes the best essay about how IVCC has influenced their life will read it at the college’s 43rd commencement May 22. In addition, the IVCC winner will be nominated for a $500 state award sponsored by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. The college is seeking essays from currently enrolled, full- or part-time students. Essays must be less than 500 words, typed and submitted to the Community Relations office, Room C-317. Entries will be judged on the basis of style, clarity of expression and relevancy, with special emphasis on grammar and punctuation. IVCC OFFERS EASTER COOKING CLASS
llinois Valley Community College’s Office of Continuing Education will offer an Easter cooking class at the end of March. "Easter Dinner" (HLR-3916-303) will be offered on Tuesday, March 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. in IVCC’s East Campus Kitchen, Building 11. This class is designed to teach participants how to create a complete traditional Easter dinner. The class will cover recipes ranging from main dishes, to side dishes and desserts. Included in this class will be information on baked ham and leg of lamb roast, garlic rosemary potatoes, honey maple baby carrots and more. The cost for this class is $29 plus a $15 materials fee.
