IVCC students recognized at annual honors banquet
May 5, 2005
Illinois Valley Community College students were recognized on April 6 during the Annual Student Academic Honors Banquet at the Mendota Civic Center.
Larry Ault of Ottawa was the guest speaker. Ault is an IVCC professor in the Physical Science Department. He is also the IVCC 2005 Faculty Excellence Award winner.
In his speech he stated, “You represent the best of the best and in 40 years IVCC students will look back on a lifetime as captains of industry, successful journalists, accountants, musicians, athletes, parents, a lifetime of valued public service. The two C’s in which all successful leaders excel: be Confident, and be a Catalyst. To be a good leader, one must have the confidence to hire people smarter than you. Provide an atmosphere conducive to brainstorming solutions to problems, to take risks.”
