Choosing a major, deciding on a career and looking for a job can leave a student not knowing where to begin
To make these decisions and the process easier for students, alumni and community members, Illinois Valley Community College offers Career Services.
For students who are experiencing problems choosing a major and a future career, the staff at Career Services has plenty of resource to ease the decision. Career aptitude tests and several other assessment tools are available.
Sharon Barthelemy, director of career services, said the resources at Career Services are well used. Among the most popular services are resume writing assistance as well as cover letter writing and interview skills.
For those preparing to look for a job, Career Services can help find employment of all types in the area, including part- or full-time as well as internships and seasonal jobs.
Career Services will also help job seekers prepare a resume and cover letter. Those nervous or unsure about the interview process may choose to participate in a mock interview.
Barthelemy recommends that those interested in using these services stop by the Career Services office to make an appointment.
Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the Walk Disney World internship program may do so at Career Services.
