Bookstore offers alternative for unwanted text books
May 5, 2005
The IVCC Bookstore is partnering with Books For Africa during buyback.
Boxes will be located in the buyback area where students can leave books they can’t sell and don’t want, according to bookstore manager Lauren Sandberg. These textbooks will be sent to Better World Books which will forward them to various countries in Africa.
Better World Books has funded the shipment of more than 500,000 books to Africa since 2003 and has kept more than 1 million pounds of used books from landfills.
Their partner, Books for Africa, is the largest shipper of donated books to the African continent, sending over 11.5 million books to 23 countries in Africa since 1998.
“IVCC students and staff can participate in this worthwhile endeavor by donating any unwanted textbooks during buyback,” Sandberg said.
