The 2005 IVCC Job Fair will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14 in the IVCC gymnasium for job seekers looking for both part-time and full-time positions as well as internships.
Seventy employers from all over the area as well as one from Florida are expected to be at the Job Fair this year.
A complete list of expected employers can be accessed at the 2005 Job Fair link found at the IVCC website, www.ivcc.edu, under the career services category on the main page. The list is updated daily as new employers sign up.
Sharon Barthelemy, coordinator of career services, said job seekers should dress as they would for a job interview and bring resume copies. They should also have a good attitude and be willing to approach employers and talk to them in a friendly fashion.
Tables will be set up in the lower level of the gym where employers will be stationed.
Representatives from the Walt Disney World college recruiting program will be among those employers. In addition, they will give a presentation explaining their program in the upper gym at 3 p.m.
The Job Fair is a great place to network. According to Barthelemy, “networking is 80 percent of the reason why people get jobs.”
Barthelemy also stated that “the IVCC Job Fair is important to both the present and future of students.”
