HSO seeks members
By Lisa Knapp
IV Leader Staff
The Human Service Organization, headed by Jean Batson-Turner,
is looking for self-goaled individuals who want to make a difference in someone
else's life.
The program does several fund-raisers throughout the year to
help defray costs for students to attend regional or national conferences,
workshops or trainings.
The Human Service Program hopes to gain possible scholarship
money through fund-raising for students continuing their degree to a four-year
college.
The local group has participated in several activities and
will continue to collaborate with other campus organizations/clubs or
surrounding Illinois Valley communities. Past and recent activities with Human
Service Organization involvement include Valentine's Day sale on campus with
collaboration of ADV/SAS, United Way of Illinois Valley, Light of Hope, Welcome
Back Students cookout, fall conference, bake sale and other service projects.
For information about the Human Services program, contact
Batson-Turner in Room B-324 or by calling 224-0268.
