Online writing class offered
ENG 2000: Technical and Business Writing (Transfer-level) will be offered in the fall semester by Kirk Lockwood, English instructor.
For information on the class, contact Lockwood at 224-0336 or kirk_lockwood@ivcc.edu.
The course will be delivered entirely online using Blackboard.
The course focuses on the types of writing students are likely to write in a business or technical setting — reports, proposals, abstracts, letters, e-mail, instructions. The course will also focus on problem-solving skills.
The course is accepted by all Illinois state schools as an elective. Students should talk their IVCC counselors and their transfer school to find out how ENG 2000 would fit into their curriculum requirements at the transfer school.
The course is also ideal for students already in the workplace who want to improve their writing skills and increase their chances for advancement or to make themselves more marketable for other positions.
The course will be delivered entirely online. The class is not self-paced; there will be deadlines. However, students can work at times convenient to them and from home.
