Job Fair Approaches

IV Leader Staff

“It’s Not Virtual, It’s LIVE: Job Fair 2005,” IVCC’s annual job fair, is being held from 12-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2005 in the IVCC Gymnasium.

“Last year 65 employers representing the service and manufacturing industries and approximately 625 job seekers participated in the event.” said Sharon Barthelemy, Coordinator of IVCC’s Career Services, and lead organizer for Job Fair 2005.

“All job seekers should plan on attending the fair and be prepared to discuss your qualifications, skills and experience. It is really important to dress in interview attire, prepare as you would for any interview and to have a resume to give to employers,” Barthelemy added.

As registrations come in, the attending employers’ names are added to the Career Services webpage: www.ivcc.edu/cs. The Career Services site contains a wide variety of tips for attending the job fair.

Pre job fair workshops are taking place on campus and in other community locations throughout February and March. Individuals may enjoy pizza and tips for a successful job hunt while attending ‘Career Advice and A Slice’, the 2005 Employer Panel Workshop on March 17 in room C316.
