Franklin University Information Offered
By JJ Ossola
IV Leader Staff
Information about Franklin University and IVCC’s
participation in the Community College Alliance partnership was presented to
students on Monday, February 7 in C-316 by Franklin University’s regional
director Bob Morris and IVCC’s on-site coordinator Bob Reese.
Reese said, “The seminar went very well. Potential students
were able to get 1 on 1 help with specific, individual questions.”
Morris visited seven classes in addition to presenting the
two seminars, “I received questions about transfer credit, and financial aid and
scholarships.” Morris said that one of best reasons for students to look into
Franklin was “a quality education in a convenient format.”
Morris said that the CCA allowed IVCC student to take another
year’s worth of classes called “bridge classes” and then finished their degree
on-line with Franklin instructors, either at home or at the IVCC campus.
Reese said, “This flexibility allows the student to complete
their Franklin degree in a convenient, familiar environment.”
There are 21 students at IVCC that have completed their
“bridge classes” and are currently taking courses “at” Franklin. Seventeen IVCC
graduates earned their bachelors degree through this program.
