A renewed emphasis on international education at IVCC is being promoted with two programs geared toward international study.
A five-week study abroad program to Costa Rica this summer is available to IVCC students, according to Amanda Bigelow, international education coordinator.
The program is open to all applicants and requires neither previous language speaking abilities nor specific ethnic background.
The Costa Rica trip involves a home stay and will earn participants college credit hours.
Interested students should seek further information regarding the program offered through the College of DuPage or they should contact Steve Alvin in his office (D-305) or by email steve_alvin@ivcc.edu.
Starting in the fall semester, students also will be able to have their degree designated with an “Emphasis in International Education.”
This program requires students to complete three needed curriculums: completing one-year of a foreign language, receiving 15 credit hours in “internationalized” courses and taking a newly offered course, Introduction to Global Studies.
To sign-up or learn more details, students should visit Amanda Bigelow, coordinator of international education, in office D-307 or email her at amanda_bigelow@ivcc.edu.
