A handful of IVCC students have been called up to serve our nation. This required the school to activate call-up procedures for these students.
IVCC will:
- Issue full tuition credits if possible, or refunds if necessary, to those called-up.
- Allow late withdrawals if necessary.
- Allow extended completion time upon the student’s return, if needed, provided the call-up occurs late in the semester, where a grade of Incomplete might be appropriate.
- Give a full refund for books.
- Not count withdrawals, in these situations, against the financial aid Standards of Progress.
- Hold Foundation Scholarships in escrow until the student’s return.
- Ask students to bring a copy of their orders calling them to active duty to the office of Bob Marshall, the vice president for Student Services, in E-200, which will in turn coordinate what needs to be done for each student.
Marshall said that this procedure was also use last school year when Reserves/National Guard was called-up to go to Afghanistan and also during the Persian Gulf War.
