Time is running out on the Illinois Valley Community College board’s option to place a referendum on the April ballot.
The deadline for placing questions on the April ballot is Jan. 30, and as of press time, the IVCC board had not decided to seek a referendum again.
According to IVCC President Jean Goodnow the board is considering not putting the referendum on the ballot again.
IVCC had three questions on the Nov. 5 election ballot. IVCC asked voters for a 12½ cent increase in the education fund, a 2½ cent increase in the operations and maintenance fund and authority to sell $16 million in bonds.
All three questions were defeated by the voters.
