EDITORIAL: Congrats on construction
Sept. 11, 2003
We at the IV Leader welcome everyone to a new year and, more importantly, congratulate those responsible for the progress on the hell that is Building C’s renovation. As most of you may remember, all of building C was inaccessible last year, which caused students much frustration and anger.
Even though this project was badly needed, it was a nuisance for us all, and we are glad that completion is upon us. Soon the bookstore and other important offices will return to their convenient locations, and more imperatively, the cafeteria will soon make its much-anticipated return. Thanks to its reopening, students can resume their euchre tournaments, socializing, and on-campus lunches.
Another project that will benefit future students will be the connection of the third floors of Buildings A, B, D and E, which is a $1.17 million project.
With all of these developments in the works, we, the staff members, have a few suggestions on how to make student life better.
First, even though the renovations on Building C look amazing, we hope that the area will eventually be aesthetically pleasing as opposed to the dull atmosphere that exists now.
Second, when connecting the floors, those in charge should consider reassigning letters to each building. If by chance, the general IVCC population has not already noticed, the buildings are not alphabetically arranged. We feel that properly ordering the buildings will result in less confusion.
Finally, adjusting room numbers needs to be considered. It would be nice to find room D229 in the same vicinity as D230.
