SGA seeks increased student involvement

Two of the new Student Government Association members want to increase student knowledge of campus activities.
Wendy Hawkins, who was elected freshman representative during SGA elections in October, said her main goal is to inform students.
“I’m going to try to make students have a better knowledge of the activities and what is going on at the college,” she said. “I also want to get more people actively involved with the things around campus.”
Like Hawkins, programming board member Andy Kunkel also wants student involvement.
“While in office, I plan to do all that I can to make a difference,” he said. “I plan to represent the student body to the best of my ability.”
Student government and the programming board help plan campus activities for students. The next SGA meeting will be at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 in the counseling center.
