Wind Ensemble to perform
The IVCC Wind Ensemble will present it’s first on campus concert of the 2003-2004 season on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the IVCC Cultural Center Auditorium. The program as part of the Arts and Letters series will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The 40-member Wind Ensemble, conducted by Gene Montgomery, consists of IVCC students, some advanced high school instrumentalists, community musician, and some of the finest teacher/performers within the IVCC district and surrounding areas.
The group performs two major on campus concerts each year in addition to off campus appearances.
Music selections studied by the group include the staples of wind band literature and transcriptions of major orchestral works.
The performance will include music by Leonard Bernstein, Gustav Holst, Samuel Barber, Frank Ticheli, Robert Sheldon and Henry Fillmore.
