Jazz Band seeks members
IVCC’s Jazz Band is looking for some additional instrumentalists.
Director Larry Butkus said the group would like to add members on piano, bass, guitar, saxophone and trumpet.
“Anyone with previous musical experience is welcome,” he said. “Jazz experience is not necessary.”
The group meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and students can take Jazz Band for course credit. For information, contact Butkus at 815-228-8219 or the division office at 815-224-0487.
Graduation deadline set
The deadline to apply for Fall 2010 graduation is Friday, Oct. 1. Forms are available in the Admissions & Records Office in C-210 or on the IVCC Web site at ivcc.edu. There is no fee to apply. Students are required to apply for graduation in order to have their degree/certificate posted to their academic record, even if they are not planning on participating in the spring graduation ceremony.
Smoking areas designated
A reminder has been issued that the courtyard is now a “No Smoking” area. There are four areas on campus that are designated as smoking areas — three on the main level and one on the lower level, all on the outside perimeter of the building:
1. Outside records and admissions building C - main level
2. Link between buildings D & B - main level
3. Link between buildings C & E - main level
4. Outside CAD lab - building D - lower level
Robotics Clubs sets meeting
The IVCC Robotics Club will have its first meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 in D-101A.
