Students asked to take survey

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR, Sept. 23, 2010

Many people think of the college as a series of buildings and structures. But the buildings are just a location. The College is all of us coming together on an educational journey.
IVCC’s mission is to teach those who seek and to be enriched by those who learn. In order to be enriched, we need to hear the voices of IVCC’s students; and one way to hear those voices is through a student satisfaction survey to be administered this fall.
Beginning in mid-October, students in some classes will be asked to take part in the Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory. Questions on campus climate, instructional effectiveness, and student services will provide us with critical feedback.
If you are in a class that is selected to participate, I encourage you to respond candidly to the survey.
Your individual responses will remain confidential, but the results of this national survey will be important in helping IVCC identify strengths and weaknesses and improve practices.
We appreciate your willingness to help us learn and grow from your experiences and we look forward to working together to improve your experience and those of students for years to come.
