Green Party candidate to visit IVCC
Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney will visit the IVCC campus on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Whitney is scheduled to speak from 10-11 a.m. in the Cultural Center. He also will speak and be available to answer questions in the evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

College closed on Oct. 11-12
Illinois Valley Community College will be closed Monday, Oct. 11 for Fall Break and Tuesday, Oct. 12 so that faculty and staff may attend “Making Connections,” an employee professional enrichment day. 
The college will reopen and classes will resume Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Deadline to apply for graduation set for Oct. 1
The deadline to apply for Fall 2010 graduation is Friday, Oct. 1. Forms are available in the Admissions & Records Office in C-210 or on the IVCC Web site at ivcc.edu. There is no fee to apply. 
Students are required to apply for graduation in order to have their degree/certificate posted to their academic record, even if they are not planning on participating in the Commencement ceremony in the Spring.

Eastern Illinois University: Nov. 10, 9 a.m.-noon 
North Central College: Nov. 9, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Northern Illinois University: Dec. 1, 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m.
University of St. Francis: Oct. 19, 10 a.m.-noon; Nov. 17, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Western Illinois University: Oct. 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 29, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 30, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Criminal Justice Association meeting 
The Criminal Justice Association will meet at 2 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month in the Fireplace Lounge.

Human Services Organization plans meeting, food drive
Wednesday Sept. 29 there will be a Human Services Organization meeting in Room C-326 at 12:30 p.m. 
There will also be plans to have a food drive in October which will focus on cereal donations. All that are interested and Human Services advocates may support this food drive by donating a box of cereal. 
Students and faculty will be more informed on the days donations can be made in the early weeks of October.

Blood drive scheduled for Oct. 7
On Thursday, Oct. 7, IVCC is holding a blood and bone marrow drive sponsored by the American Red Cross. From 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., you can donate blood in the college gym. 
If you are interested in donating, you can sign up by making an appointment in office B-220 or you can call (815) 224-0322. 
Those giving must remember to bring a form of identification.
