The IVCC women’s tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Aug. 31 with a home match against Moraine Valley .
The win moves the IVCC team’s record to 1-1.
IVCC won the match 5-4.
Coach Bonnie Peterson said her team plays hard and stays focused against tough competition. Even in losses, the players have brought most games to deuce, she said.
She noted that the team plays in Division I, Region IV of NJCAA, which puts the IVCC team in competition with many suburban Chicago teams.
The tennis team has one final home match at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Oakton at La Salle’s Hegeler Park.
